Amazon Echo

Has anyone looked at using the Amazon Echo as a voice interface to HAL? I have had a unit for several months and the voice recognition and output speaker quality are unbelievable. Amazon just released their software to 3rd party developers so I am hopeful that this could be an option for HAL in the future.

Re: Amazon Echo

I created my own web service using the Alexa SKill Tutorial. I then have it run my macros, etc.

"Alexa, start good-night"....she then runs my GoodNight Macro with HAL.
And then replies with a random response (I have 5 with a number generator)
Good night and sweet dreams.
It has been a long day. See you in the morning.
etc.

Works great and I have two DOTs so I can call this from anywhere in the house.
