Programming efficiency

I have two TV Set Top boxes (XFinity X1), each is controlled via a Global Cache' iTach box interfaced to HAL. I have written HAL actions to change the channel (ex: HBO, CMAX, NBC, etc.) on the first Set Top box using individual Scenes and Rules.

What programming method can I use to issue Set Top box commands that wouldn't require duplicate Scenes and Rules for each Set Top boxe?

Can I somehow speak a variable that could be used by a single scene or rule to change the channel or issue a command to an individual Set Top box?

Would this also work with Alexa via HomeNet?
