Its Easy To Automate Your Home With HAL!

HAL software delivers complete control using power line protocols. There's no need to tear your house apart to rewire your home. You simply use the wires that already exist in your home's walls. Using build-in wall switches, lamp modules, or power outlets, you can control every light in your house.

Schedule your lights to go on and off according to your lifestyle. HAL tracks sunrise and sunset where you live by matching the latitude and longitude with the position of the sun. Tell HAL to turn your front door lights on at dusk every night and off at 11:30pm. Use easy-to-set-up Macros to establish lighting scenes. For instance, when you tell HAL that it's "It's time for a movie," HAL might then dim the lights in the family room.

HAL will operate appliances, too, like coffee makers and popcorn poppers. Tell HAL to brew the coffee every morning at 7am. Even more impressive is HAL's power to link numerous actions together. In addition to dimming the family room lights when you say, "It's time for a movie," you could also have HAL begin popping the popcorn.

Devices

HAL gives you the power to control the climate in your house from anywhere in the home - or anywhere in the world - by voice. Once you install a HAL-compatible communicating thermostat, you can call your home and ask HAL, "What is the temperature in the house?", or you may ask, "What is the thermostat setting?"

Lots of people have programmable thermostats. But what if your schedule changes after the thermostat is programmed? Most programmable thermostats can only be programmed when you're at home. With HAL, if you decide to extend your vacation by a couple of days, you can simply call your house and tell HAL to set the thermostat accordingly. Then call from the airport on the way home and tell HAL to warm/cool the house to the temperature you desire.

Security

HAL gives you greater control of your home security system. With a HAL-compatible security panel, you can arm, disarm or even bypass and restore zones in your system by voice. If your system is violated, you can tell HAL to call you on your cell phone or at the office or at any number you designate. You may want HAL to call your neighbor if you are away on vacation. If your system detects smoke or fire in your house during evening hours, you can tell HAL to turn on all the lights in the house and to play loud music in order to wake up sleeping residents. This is all possible because HAL integrates all the systems in the house on the PC - when the security system is triggered, other systems can be told to respond. With HAL, you are limited only by your imagination.

Home Theater

Wouldn't it be much more easy to watch a movie without first having to handle four or more remotes. With HAL you can control your entire home theatre set by voice. For instance you can control your television by saying: "Turn on the television", "Raise the television volume" or "Change the television channel to CNN".

In addition to this you can have HAL play entire scenario's by issuing a single command. By saying "Let's watch a movie together", you can have HAL execute a whole chain of commands: dim the lights; close the curtains; switch on your voice mail; turn on the television; start the dvd player; determine volume levels.

New in Version 6 of HALultra, HALpro and HALecs there is now support for Global Cache's popular iTach product line in addition to the already supported GC-100. HAL also now has built in support for Global Cache's online library of IR codes.

Telephony

HAL is your digital answering machine consisting of 10 free voice mail boxes, personal greetings, caller ID, voice dialing and a capacity the size of your computers hard disk. When you have to work late you can call home and tell HAL to turn on the heater a few hours later, or you can ask HAL what you need to buy from the supermarket. HAL's telephony features give you complete voice control over your entire home by phone.

Internet Information

If you have HAL Internet services enabled, you can tell HAL to retrieve relevant internet information like the news, weather forecast, stock prices, your e-mail or sport score updates. HAL will read out the information to you wherever you want, whenever you want. HAL also has support for RSS feeds and the ability to read certain feeds based on filters you create.

Digital Music Center

The HAL Digital Music Center (DMC) is designed to give you the same easy voice or web control of your entire music collection that HAL extends to all of the devices in your home.

With DMC you can "rip" all of your CD's onto your PC’s hard drive. The DMC will automatically categorize your music by artist, song, album, genre, and year. You can tell HAL to play a single song –- or all the music by a particular artist. Tell HAL to play jazz –- or all the music in your collection from 1985! You can create custom play lists for even greater control of your music.

In addition to making your music more accessible, HAL will help you bring your music into the way you live in your home. Using popular HAL features like Room Scenes and House Modes, you can select music for HAL to play when you are dining or reading or partying! Tell HAL to put the house in "dinner mode" and you might have the lights dim in the dining room and your HAL DMC will play a collection of your most appetizing tunes!

Digital Video Center

The HAL Digital Video Center (DVC) provides capture and playback of up to 8 sources. is a flexible, user-friendly interface that brings all of your cameras to the tips of your fingers. View events going on at your home from anywhere, be notified when there is movement by the pool when you’re not home or look in on the nursery at night. When used with the HAL HomeNet, you can even view these images from the palm of your hand or any IE browser.

The Digital Video Center captures video from many types of sources including, IP Cameras, USB cameras, CCTV Cameras, TV tuners and more. Add these video functions to any of your tasks and macros or even schedule when you want to record from certain cameras. No need for a DVR, your host computer will now store all of your recorded video and camera events. HAL can even email your video snapshots for additional convenience.

Use motion sensors to have cameras start recording based on a motion event. If not, then HAL can detect motion using the camera itself. When there is movement in the camera’s view you can have HAL start recording. So now when someone comes to your front door you can have a video record of it. You could also have HAL announce when someone comes to the front door, turn the light on at the porch, etc.

Instant Message Dispatcher

The HAL Instant Message Dispatcher (IMD) allows you to carry on a conversation with HAL as if you were speaking. You can tell HAL to do almost anything via an Instant Message that you could by voice and get a response back.

Smartphone

The HAL Interactive Device Server (IDS) allows you to connect to HAL using your Smartphone. HALids supports both the iPhone and the Android with a custom HomeNet app.

Energy Management Console

The HAL Energy management Console (EMC) allows you to monitor and mange your energy usage in your home.
