Before speaking to HAL, you must first get its attention. When using a microphone to talk to HAL, you can get its attention by saying the attention word. HAL has a default attention word of "Hello Computer", but it can be changed to any word or phrase of your choosing. HALbasic, HALdeluxe, and HALultra each have an attention word that can be set.
