HAL Setup didn't detect my modem.

Cause:

The modem isn't connected properly.

Solution:

Cause:

The driver for the modem wasn't installed correctly or is out-of-date or the wrong version. If the correct modem driver isn't being used, then the computer and HAL won't recognize the modem.

Solution:

Install the correct modem driver. Consult the modem manufacturer's documentation or website for the correct driver. Drivers for the HAL Voice Portals are available from the Download Support Files page.
