Why do some of my CDs not show information in the HALdmc Recorder screen even after HAL tries to get information for it?

Solution

There are three reasons why HAL may not be able to get information about a CD:

The HALdmc is not set up to automatically download information about a CD when it's loaded into the CD-ROM. Go to the "Recording" section of the DMC Settings screen to enable this feature. Alternatively, you can manually get the information by clicking the CD INFO button in the DMC Recorder/CD Player screen.
HAL is not connected to the Internet. HAL downloads information about music CDs from the Internet. If there's no connection then HAL can't get the information. Make sure the connection to the Internet is functioning correctly and that HAL is properly set up to use the connection.
No information is available for that CD or the information is incomplete. In this case, click the MODIFY button in the DMC Recorder/CD Player screen. This will allow you to add or edit the artist, album, genre, and year information for that CD. You can modify the name for each track on that CD after the CD has been recorded by editing the Song Information screen for each song. (The ability to edit track name information before recording the CD will be added to a future release of the HALdmc.)
